Naming Molecular Compounds

• Use the 1st name of the element
• 2 elements end in -ide
• 1 atom usually does not have a prefix. NO---> Nitrogen monoxide
• Hydrogen does not get a prefix

* Also be aware of the Latin prefixes. They are very important!!
